Som Technologies

Graphic Design, Web Design
My challenge was thinking of how to best represent Som Technologies as a trustworthy, capable company for the government, highlighting their past achievements while keeping a modern look.

Designing the Mockup
March 2023 - July 2023
Above is my first draft of how I thought the site should be redesigned. This was actually my practical assignment in order to join the company for an unpaid internship, and I had not learned Figma at this time. So the above image and draft was created in Adobe Illustrator.

However, as time went on and I learned more skills from my UI/UX Bootcamp, I began the redesign process all over again in Figma and laid out a site map.

Testing Two Versions
July 2023 - September 2023
I continued with creating components in a style guide, and conducted A/B testing with the two versions for the website as seen below.

Finally, user testing had determined that most users preferred the screen on the right, citing it as more modern, and more professional. From there, the rest of the screens were designed according to the site map, and each screen followed the brand colors.

Implementing the Site
September 2023 - March 2023
Finally came implementing the site on Wordpress. Some hover effects had to be added in with custom CSS code, which I had learned from my mentor at this company. It was  also imperative to make sure that the entire site was responsive, which was made easier with the Elementor widget.

This project taught me so much about Wordpress, and was my first case of A/B testing outside of my Bootcamp experience.
